A Place to Grow, A Place for Clarity
Providing Integrative Counselling
Counselling aims to help individuals gain insights into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, enabling them to better understand themselves and their relationships. This is done through a range of "talking therapies", where a trained professional helps an individual explore their emotional and psychological issues in a safe and confidential space. It's a process focused on understanding and managing problems, ultimately aiming to promote well-being and facilitate positive change.
About
Hi! I’m Katie 😊
Based in Stratford-Upon-Avon, I am a qualified integrative therapist - which means I use a range of methodologies in my practice to cater to the client’s needs. Some of the main approaches I use include Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotional Freedom Therapy and the Psychodynamic Approach (to name a few).
I believe everyone is different, and therefore can react differently to events. Meaning, each person will need different types of therapy to help them on their healing journey.
It’s all about you!
You are in charge of your mental health journey. I provide a safe and inclusive space for you to discover, challenge and process your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Take everything at your own pace and create your own path, I’m here to hand you the tools and empower your process.
As a queer, disabled, neurodivergent woman from a working class background, I am passionate about providing an accessible and intersectional space for my clients. Constant stress and threats in our surroundings might lead us to feel helpless and want to give up; but there are strategies to develop resilience, find meaning in your experiences, and learn to love who you are.
I want to create a safe, inclusive, and accessible Alcove for people to feel empowered and to find peace with their true self.

Prices/Fees
At Therapy Alcove, we understand that although counselling can be essential, it can also be expensive over time.
Counsellor's fees are high due to the amount of ongoing training required for accreditation and monthly supervision needed for good practice. This can mean private or specialist therapy is out of reach for many.
With this in mind, lower cost therapy is available by special arrangements and is dependant on annual income and availability.
Sessions last 50 minutes with a standard rate of £40 per session (online). Face-to-face sessions are £45 per session, held in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
All appointments should be paid for in advance via bank transfer or cash. Any canceled or missed appointments that are under the agreed 24 hour notice, clients will be charged at the full rate of the session.
It's recommended weekly attendance (held at the same time slot) for 6-12 weeks, is important for therapy to progress. However, there is always room for flexibility.
